SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference) is an annual conference during which the latest solutions and trends in the development of equipment intended for special forces are presented. The conference held in Tampa, Florida and is often is accompanied by spectacular demonstrations of the US special forces and units from friendly countries (including Poland).
This year's dominant information is the premiere of the new RAILINK platform prepared by Gentex for use on OPS CORE FAST helmets.
It is a patented, first system of its kind that enables integrated power supply and data exchange between devices mounted on a helmet. The system consists of ARC rails, which are powered by a battery compartment located on the back of the helmet, similar to the power supply for NV devices.
The rails are wirelessly powered from the above-mentioned source, eliminating the need for wires (or significantly reducing it) and separate power sources for devices carried on a helmet, e.g. strobe markers, light sources or NV devices.
Together with the RAILINK platform, cooperating with Gentex on this project, the Surefire, Core Survival and Princeton Tec companies presented their products.
Surefire and Princeton Tec presented mini flashlights mounted on the ARC rails of the RAILINK system, and Core Survival presented new miniature Hell Star Rail Strobe markers, which were presented by Jamey Caldwell, a former Delta operator, who is cooperating with the company.
Gentex is currently working with its industry partners to develop the system and its accessories. The RAILINK system is slated to become available in the last quarter of 2022 and shipments to US customers are slated to begin in December 2022.
