It would not be surprising, if not for the fact that among the purchases we will find only "premium" brands.
You can read below about what Australian soldiers will use in the coming years.
< br /> Let's start with the latest information - Australian snipers will soon receive the excellent British Accuracy International AX-SR rifles.

The rifle will be put into service as a multi-caliber platform that can be fed with .338 Lapua Magnum, .300 Norma Magnum and 7.62mm NATO ammunition.

Together with the rifle, the Australians bought the Sniper Surveillance Capability package. The package consists of a multi-vector Safran JIM Compact device that allows, among other things, to conduct target identification at low light intensity and to record and stream observation videos. According to technical data, the range of the device is 12,000 meters. The package also includes Steiner binoculars with a built-in laser rangefinder.

The AX-SR rifles are equipped, among other things, with the Dark Earth AXSR Chassis, with a side folding stock and mounts for 20 MOA scopes - the STANAG (MIL 1913) Action Rail.

Another, well-known brand that will come to Australian soldiers is Sig Sauer, which is becoming the undisputed leader in winning government contracts. Soldiers from the Antipodes will receive the Sig Sauer P320 XCarry Pro pistols in place of the old Browning HP.

Sig Sauer pistols in FDE finish are to be equipped with reflex sights, probably Sig's products, Romeo 2 and tactical flashlights also from the same manufacturer called Foxtrot 2, providing a light of 580 lumens/13,000 candela.

However, Sig Sauer pistols are not the only product of this company that will appear in Australia. The well-known and more and more often chosen (among others by some Polish special units) Sig MCX will go to the Australian army as a new personal protection weapon, i.e. PDW.

The carbines are powered by the .300 Blackout cartridge and are to be delivered with Romeo 4T reflex sights and Juliet 4 magnifiers. The Sig Sauer weapon will be delivered to the Australian Armed Forces through Aquaterro. It is impossible not to mention the Italian classic (ah John Wick 2), the new shotgun in the Australian army will be the Benelli M3A1.

The shotguns, as seen in the Australian Department of Defense photos, will likely be FDE-colored and will be equipped with Leupold Delta Point Pro reflex sights, and some undefined tactical flashlight.
