Vega Force Company is celebrating the coming of spring with a new gas-powered replica. The family of Heckler & Koch G3 and related replicas made by Vega Force Company has been expanded with the HK53 gas-powered model, which will premiere on April 27th.
You may already know this carbine from our review of the HK33 AEG replica (LK-33A2 or the HK33), but the gas-powered version will also receive full markings thanks to the cooperation with UMAREX.
Vega Force Company based the new replica on the experience gained with the G3 and MP5V2 models, partially adapting some internal elements. A novelty is the EZ Hop Design system, which places the adjustment on the outer barrel near the chamber. This is to provide easy access after removing the handguard and constant pressure on BBs.
The replica has a lightweight bolt carrier made of aluminum alloys, a return spring and guide assembly made of steel and a steel trigger group, all developed especially for this replica.
The trigger group has only 3 positions marked with 0, 1 and 25 for individual firing modes. The grip itself is made of polymer and has characteristic reinforcements and grooves.
The whole is complemented with a classic safety/selector lever made of pressed steel, located only on the left side. The trigger or the magazine release lever are also made in a similar way. The receiver, in turn, is made of pressed steel sheets joined with welds, just like the original.
Details have also been taken care of, such as a dedicated HK mount for optics, steel iron sights with a diopter rear sight and a ring front sight, a flash hider, carrying sling loops and a steel charging handle.
The replica will be delivered with a collapsing stock with a polymer butt pad and a 30 BB magazine as standard, but among the additional elements there is already a whole series of accessories from MP5 replicas that will fit this one, such as a tactical handguard, one with an integrated flashlight, optics mounts, muzzle devices or an MP5 pistol grip.
The new HK53 replica has a declared muzzle velocity of 100 m/s, an inner barrel length of 208 mm, a weight of 2850 g and a length of 556/750 mm.
