One of the most developed countries in terms of airsoft is Taiwan, home to the largest manufacturers such as G&G Armament and LCT Airsoft. Unfortunately, there are quite restrictive laws in this country, which are additionally being tightened. Matters related to airsoft are also quite popular in the media, as evidenced by the arrest of the president of G&G Armament a few years ago (Bad news from Taiwan: The owner of G&G has been sentenced to over 2 years in prison). As reported by the Taiwan News portal, we now have an unfortunate realization of these concerns in the form of a detention of a Taiwanese citizen in connection with the illegal creation of firearms. He used weapon replicas (unfortunately, it was not specified whether airsoft ones), which he then modified to be functional pistols.
During the arrest, 6 pistols, 115 rounds of ammunition and tools necessary for the job were revealed. The way Mr. Zhu was discovered is quite funny. He recently visited a hospital due to a thumb injury that resulted while testing his products. This prompted a report by hospital staff, which led to getting the attention authorities and subsequent arrest.
