At HIKMICRO website, a popular manufacturer of night vision and thermal imaging solutions, there is information about a new scope adapted for use during the day and at night. Called the A50EL, it is also an announcement of more products from the Alpex 4K series.

The heart of the latest scope is a CMOS sensor with a high resolution of 3840x2160 pixels (4K). During the day, it enables observations in full color, and after dark it serves as a digital night vision device. Its range and image quality at night can be improved by using an external IR illuminator. It is worth noting that the increase in the number of pixels compared to the previous models from the Alpex series is up to four times. Older devices used an FHD matrix (1920x1080 px). This change results in a significant improvement in image quality, especially when using the digital zoom function.

The A50EL is equipped with a 50 mm lens and the ability to adjust the aperture in the range of F1.2-F2.5. The 3.5x base magnification provides a field of view of 8.8° x 5.0° (15.3 m x 8.6 m @100 m), and when using the (smooth) digital zoom, it can be increased up to 28x.

Compared to previous variants, the new Alpex 4K sight also uses a better display. The OLED screen now has a size of 0.49" and displays an image with a frequency of 50 Hz with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. This means that using the advantages of the 4K sensor are possible, especially when using digital zoom.

In addition to the built-in image and sound recorder (EMMC 64 GB internal memory) and a whole range of additional, useful functions, the Alpex LRF 4K is also equipped with a laserrangefinder module with a range of 1000 meters and a ballistic calculator.

The new sight is powered by two built-in lithium batteries (charged via a USB-C port), as well as an additional, replaceable 18650 cell. This combination allows to achieve up to 11 hours of continuous operation of the device (measured at a temperature of 25°C). The A50EL scope weighs approximately 1200 grams, is adapted to be mounted on a weapon using standard 30 mm mounting rings and can withstand recoil of up to 1000 g/0.4 ms. It is also resistant to the adverse effects of water in the high IP67 standard.

When browsing the offer of foreign stores the new product is available in pre-order at a price of about 850 GBP.
