Viridian Weapon Technologies, an American manufacturer of weapon accessories, has included a new, compact RFX44 reflex sight into its offer. The product is based on some of the solutions used in the previous model, i.e. the larger RFX45.
The new RFX44 model is a closed reflex sight using footprint in the Acro standard and is intended for use on pistols, but a wide range of available mounts (RMR, Docter/Fast Fire/Venom, Glock MOS, Shield RMSc, Picatinny Low & High) allows to mount it on other weapons as well. The product is made of durable 6061 aluminum alloy and is protected against the adverse effects of water in the IPX6 standard.
The manufacturer decided to use a green emitter due to the higher sensitivity of the human eye to this wavelength. Additionally, this facilitates the use of bright and clean optics that do not darken the image and faithfully reproduce colors. The displayed aiming point has a size of 5 MOA and a single CR1632 battery allows it to be displayed for up to over 30,000 hours. There are 10 brightness settings, including two compatible with night vision systems.
The sight uses many interesting solutions. The battery and electronics were placed on the top of the sight, which allowed the it to be larger and the sight line to be placed lower. The RFX44 is also equipped with a sensor that allows automatically turn on the sight when motion is detected and turns it off when it remains motionless for more than two minutes.
The new Viridian Weapon Technologies reflex sight with a basic mount (optional) is priced at 459 USD, but is currently available for sale at a promotional price. If you want to order it with an additional Picatinny adapter (high or low), a small additional fee is required. The product is covered by the manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty.
