Aimpoint® did more than just present a new model of the Acro S-2™ 9 MOA red dot sight, which we wrote about at the time of its release. More new products have recently appeared in the offer of this respected manufacturer, and one of them is the 3X-P™ magnifier, with 3x optical magnification of the image.
It is a military-grade product, with high-quality optics that provides a large field of view (7°) and great image quality, regardless of whether it is used as a handheld monocular (the grip is made firmer by a rubber cover placed on the housing) or mounted on a weapon.
Of course, the main purpose of the magnifier is to work with Aimpoint® red dot sights. This allows to increase the precision of aiming at a longer ranges, and when using the appropriate mount (e.g. the TwistMount ™ or the FlipMount ™), one does not have to give up the ability to quickly acquire a target. Using the magnifier with a red dot sight does not require any adjustments to its settings.
Weighing (without a mout) 203 g, the 3X-P™ magnifier allows for diopter adjustment in the range from -2 to +2. It is also well protected against the adverse effects of water (it will withstand immersion to a depth of 25 meters). The eye relief is 56 mm. The product is priced at 422 USD at the manufacturer's store.
