When visiting the Fenix company stand during the new concluded SHOT Show 2024, one could come across a pistol flashlight with a laser sight: the GL22R. This is a refreshed version of the GL22 model, with room for several improvements.
The new GL22R flashlight uses a laser sight with a green beam (5 mW, 530 nm). The luminous flux has also been increased, and now its maximum value reaches 1200 lumens (750 lm for the GL22). According to the manufacturer, in the brightest mode the light reaches a distance of 230 meters.
The included battery should last for up to 70 minutes of using the flashlight in the brightest mode, 60 minutes in combination with a laser sight pointer or 1000 minutes using the sight. The GL22R housing has a USB-C port that allows to charge the battery without removing it.
The new product from Fenix is operated using a double switch. It is waterproof in the IP66 standard and can withstand the effects of falling from a height of 1 meter. Its dimensions are 81x29x43 mm and the head has a diameter of 25 mm. The GL22R weighs 114 grams with the battery installed.
