The Well Pro brand has began to introduce budget replicas of the Russian PPK-20 submachine gun to the market, first offering a cheaper variant made of polymers, and then models with a metal receiver and additional electronics. What is even more surprising is the fact that another announcement of the PPK-20 replica was made, but instead of another AEG replica, this one will be a gas-powered variant called the WE06 FULL METAL GBBR.

As can be read in the announcement of the Taiwangun store, the replica will have a receiver and more important elements (barrel holder, stock hinge, magazine release and safety/selector lever) made of steel. Other elements such as the outer barrel and the bolt carrier are made of aluminum. Inside there is the Hybrid system made by Well Pro, based on the AKX ZET system from a well-known manufacturer from Japan.

From the info gathered the Taiwangun, we know that the nozzle has a diameter of 18 mm inside, the hop-up system is dedicated and the VSR standard elements do not fit it. The replica is factory equipped with an NPAS nozzle, enabling adjustment in the range from 100 fps to 300 fps. The inner barrel is 184 mm long and has a hop-up chamber, the adjustment of which is placed in a dummy barrel pin. Thanks to this, it will not be necessary to disassemble the replica to adjust the bucking pressure. The magazines themselves will have a capacity of 38 bullets and will bear the caliber markings. Visually, there have not been many changes and the AEG and GBB replicas do not differ in major details such as the handguard, stock or pistol grip.

The new GBB replica is announced for July 2024 and sales can be expected to start soon. The given price for a replica with a single magazine is 441 EUR.
Fans of classic AK carbines may have to wait a while longer, as it is quite probable that replicas of gas-powered AKs from the Well Pro brand will appear.
