Vega Force Company has presented its AK-74M (AV74M) replica at last year's MOA 2023 (New products by Vega Force Company at MOA 2023). This is their first replica of a Soviet design in a long time, additionally as a gas-powered replica and with dimensions very similar to the real firearm. Press materials released emphasised appropriate recreation of the receiver, which is made of pressed steel, a realistic trigger mechanism and a bolt carrier with the possibility of working in a full or shortened travel for increased rate of fire. What you can see here is a folding return spring guide and the use of multi-wire springs in the trigger mechanism.
Inside there is a nozzle with a diameter of 22 mm, a hop-up chamber with rotational adjustment, accessible after taking of the receiver dust cover, and a blue hop-up rubber in the VSR standard.
The nozzle does not have NPAS adjustment installed and is supposed to generate around 110-120 m/s of muzzle velocity straight out of the box. In combination with magazines with a capacity of 42 BBs and 107 cm3 of gas, it allows to fire up to 250 BBs with shoting slowly in single fire mode. The magazine weight is 388g, mainly due to the all-metal design. They don't have polymer housings, but the magazine lips have been recreated as in the original firearm and, like in other products, dry firing has been enabled.
The replica's receiver itself is made of steel, largely based on the dimensions of the original.
Slight changes include the barrel being mounted with a thread and locked with screws. The front sight has been mounted is a similar way, with the possibility of replacing the screws with pins. The barrel itself is finished with the most popular 14 mm CCW thread, but the replica will be delivered with a classic muzzle device that accommodates an adapter for a 24 mm CW thread. Thanks to the having the same dimensions as the original, it is possible to use grips, hanguards, gas tube covers and other accessories for the AK platform. In terms of the stock, a variant with a foldable stock was chosen, and the spacing of the holes is to allow use most of the available variants. Fans of the classics will also be able to mount optics thanks to the side dovetail mount.
Despite the fact that the replica has not become available yet, there have already been announcements of modified parts from CL Projekt Design.
The replica is scheduled for an official release on September 25.
