Czech manufacturer of innovative pistols, Laugo Arms, has already announced its first premiere for the new year. This time, catering towards everyday shooters who carry a gun in their everyday EDC. The new Alien Remus model has been specially prepared for this purpose, drawing elements from the larger and more famous Alien Laugo pistol. The design for concealed carry itself has been shortened by 27 mm, that is from 210 mm to 184 mm. The barrel has also been shortened from 4.8 inches/124 mm to 4 inches/102 mm. The grip has also been slightly shortened, reducing the height from 5.8 inches to 5.5 inches.
New magazines with a capacity of 15 rounds have been created specifically for the new pistol, while maintaining compatibility with the previous ones. Most mechanical elements are also interchangeable between models. The underbarrel rail has been shortened, offering two slots for mounting accessories. While the mechanics of the pistol itself have not changed, there has been room for new solutions. The first is the clear and intuitive pivot safety on the left side of the slide and it is the second form of safety next to the trigger safety.
In addition to this, the charging method has been supplemented with the Push to Rack system, allowing for quick and intuitive reloading by pressing a lever on the top and moving the entire top rail with the optics. However, the rail itself will still remain motionless during shooting.
Owners will be able to choose from 3 optics mounting standards and a classic version with iron sights only. Individual optimization for each shooter is also present, offering a thumb rest, grips and a rear tang in several variants. In addition to size, they also differ visually, offering quite an interesting design. The pistol also weighs only 825 grams.
The premiere of the new Alien Remus pistol from Laugo Arms is to take place on January 4. The limited first edition of 1000 sets (500 for the US market and 500 for other markets) will go on sale first, consisting of the pistol, 2 magazines (with a capacity of 15 and 17 rounds), 2 top rails (with iron sights and a mount for optics with a set of mounting plates), a full set of grips, magazine wells, a holster and a cleaning kit, and all this placed in a hard case. The price has not been officially announced yet, but we can expect it to be around 6,000-6,500 USD.
