Nightforce received a contract worth 53,735,930 USD for an unspecified number of optical sights selected under the Precision-Variable Power Scope (P-VPS) program - a precision scope with variable zoom.
The winning scopes are the MIL-SPEC ATACR 5-25 × 56 Dayscope and the MIL-SPEC ATACR 7-35 × 56 Long Range Dayscope l. The P-VPS scopes have been designed to improve target detection, tracking and identification as well as to increase the probability of hits during day and night engagements at ranges from 0 to 1500 m. They are equipped with the Tremor 3 reticle.
In addition to optics, the P-VPS system also includes the Nightforce MIL-SPEC UltraMount Picatinny rail with a mounting bridge, the RAP-I laser rangefinder, a tool kit and a soft case.
On the photos you can see the 7-35 × 56 sight attached to the Barrett Mk22 advanced sniper rifle. In addition to the Nightforce UltraMount and the RAP-i LRF Mount, the rifle was also equipped with a silencer manufactured by Barrett. The ASR is a multi-caliber rifle adapted for firing NATO 7.62 mm, 300 Norma Mag and .338 NM rounds.
