The TASS news agency has published info in which we can read about the delivery of the first batch of ADS rifles to the Russian armed forces.

The rifles are intended for scuba divers and special forces soldiers and can be used to hit targets on land and underwater.

The predecessor of the ADS rifles, the APS model, despite decent performance underwater, had a maximum range of only 100 meters during land operations.

ADS is powered by the 5.45 x 39 mm round, i.e. the same one used in AK74 rifles, although there is also a special 5.45x39 mm PSP round for shooting underwater. ADS rifles can be equipped with a 40mm under-barrel grenade launcher, a sound suppressor and various types of optical sights mounted on a rail located on the transport grip.

According to the sources, the ADS weight is about 4.6 kg and the range (probably above water) is about 500 m
