President Trump on Twitter has published the new, official logo of the latest branch of US Armed Forces - the US Space Force.

The emblem contains the words "Department of the Air Force", which explain that the US Space Force is subjected to the USAF as is the Marine Corps subjected to the Navy.

Comments on Twitter say that the logo is similar to the Star Fleet emblem from the STAR TREK fictional universe, others say there is a clear resemblance to the now outdated Air Force Space Command patch.

According to the spokesperson of the US Space Force, the "delta symbol, the central element of the logo, was used for the first time in 1942 by the US Army Air Force; it was used in the early emblems of the Air Force space organization since 1961. Since then, the delta symbol has become an important element in the emblems of troops related to space exploration. "
