The American Trijicon company, known for the production of ACOG and RMR sights, among other things, was announced the winner of the procedure for a new optical sight for the USMC.
Research for a new sight, which is to enter service under the name Squad Common Optic (SCO), began in 2019. The standard RFI document (Request For Information) specified, among other things, the weight, magnification and the reticent adjustment ranges of future sight.
The $ 64m contract encompasses the supply of the Trijicon VCOG 1-8×28 sights (approximately 19,000 units), spare parts, training and logistical support.
The contract is expected to be fully implemented by early 2025.
