Minister Mariusz Błaszczak informed the public about the consent of the US Department of State to sell the FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile system to Poland.
The package that the Americans have agreed to includes 79 launchers, 180 missiles, training systems, including mock-ups and simulators, equipment and service kits, and a training and logistics package. The total cost has been estimated at a maximum of 100 million USD.
To sign the contract, the consent of the US Congress is also required, which will take up to two more weeks. Of there will be no opposition, the proceedings will be considered successful and the parties will enter into price negotiations.
