The Vigil 1911 line consists of six semi-automatic pistols based on the Colt 1911 design. There are semi-automatic weapons with a hammer mechanism and a Single Action Only trigger (SAO). Most of the pistols are feed from a single stack magazine and come in a version adapted for a 9x19 mm or .45 ACP rounds. The only exception is the full-size classic model, available only in the 45 ACP version.
All models also combine wooden grip panels with a visible Dan Wesson logo, one-sided enlarged safety switch, a Commander hammer, a lightweight trigger, a silver barrel bearing and a silver return spring guard. The resistance of the trigger mechanism can be set from 1.6 to 2.3 kg. All frames are made of aluminum alloy for weight reduction. Of course, the slides were made of high-grade steel and the iron sights consist of a tritium front sight and a regular black rear sight.
The lower part of the main spring housing has been rounded in all models to increase carrying comfort. Interestingly, each model received a milled magazine well for easier reloading. This is not visible at first glance, but it shows the attention to details. The line consists of four pistols, but they are available in different variants, so there are eight designs to chose from. Each gun is delivered with two magazines. Prices range from 1298 to 1397 USD. This is 20-30% less than in models not advertised as "budget" versions.
The offer includes a full-size Government format pistol with all the above described features, feed from a 8 rounds .45 ACP magazine. The second full-size version has elevated sights and a barrel with a thread for mounting a silencer. It is available in .45 ACP and 9x19 mm versions. The 9x19 mm magazine holds 9 rounds.
Next we go to the smaller models. The Commander model with a shortened slide/barrel is also available in two caliber versions and is a proposal for everyday carrying for people who like classic solutions. The magazine capacity is the same.
The last model in the Dan Wesson Vigil 1911 line is the CCO (Compact Commander Officer) version with a shortened barrel and slide also intended for everyday carrying. The magazine capacity in the .45 ACP version is 7 rounds, and in the 9x19 mm version 8 rounds can be loaded into the magazine.
