Meanwhile Brownells, one of the largest weapon stores, is launching slides of its own production for the Glock 48 pistols.
The aforementioned Glock 48 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered for the 9×19 mm round, with a slim frame design that is, unlike most known 9 mm models, it is has a single stack magazine with a capacity of 10 rounds, thanks to which it perfectly fits the requirements of EDC weapons.
Glock 48 is a variant of another novelty in Glock's catalog, i.e. the G43X model, with a barrel extended to 106 mm and a slide similar in length to the G19 model.
Brownells offers two types of slides - with a milled port just behind the front sight tie and without it.
The slides are naturally compatible with Glock factory frames and barrels and, apart from the milled port in the upper part, they differ from the original ones also by the increased number of rubbings on the front of the slide. There are five in the factory slide and eight in the Bronwnells product. The rubbings allow for easier cocking and checking if a round is present in the chamber.
The company has also announced the imminent introduction of the above-mentioned slides in the optics ready variant, i.e. with a mount dedicated for installation of mini RMR collimators and similar sights. For a standard Brownells slide for the Glock 48 you have to pay 199.99 USD, for a model with a port, 209.99 USD.
