L3 Harris Technologies has received a contract from the US ARMY for the supply of the Small Tactical Optical Rifle-Mounted Micro Laser Rangefinder 2 (STORM 2). The company will provide the US military with over 1,100 STORM 2 modules for a price of approximately 215 million USD, which will give soldiers the ability to track and provide information about targets on the battlefield.
The STORM 2 is said to be another step forward in gun-mounted sights, providing soldiers with increased observation and combat capabilities while remaining hidden and at a safe distance from any potential enemy.
Until recently, L3 Technologoies was the owner of the EOTECH company known for the production of high-quality holographic sights.
