Among the owners of AK rifles, we can distinguish two groups - purists ("No ris rails or plastic, only plywood and metal!") and, as in the case of AR15 owners, "Pimp my AK". We have good news for the second group as the Ukrainian company KRUK is introducing a solid alternative to the popular Magpul or IMI stocks - KPYK CRC 5002 adjustable aluminum AK stock.
As the name suggests, the stock is made of milled aluminum, covered with a layer of Cerakote in 3 colors - Armor Black, OD Green and Coyote Tan. The stocks are available in two versions - a fixed one and a side-folding one, which folds to the left, and they can be used in AK carbines with both a milled and stamped receiver.
The weight of the fixed stock is 391 grams (13.8 oz), which is only 65 grams more than the standard AK-74 polymer stock. The side-folding version is a bit heavier, 510 grams (18 oz). The stocks are naturally adjustable. The length of the KPYK CRC 5002 stock is adjustable from 175mm to 220mm. The cheek pad is also adjustable. It is done via a hinge at the back of the pad and a latch at it's front. The maximum height of the pad is 20 mm.
The stock's butt plate is also adjustable in the range of 30 mm. The plate and pad are made of polymers.
On the stock there are points for QD carrying sling swivels and loops for standard AK slings. The new KPYK CRC 5002 stock costs $ 236 for the fixed version and $ 286 for the side-folding model.
