We wrote about the biggest news from Eotech for the coming year a few days ago, but now we can share our personal impressions with you. Let us remind you that the Eotech product that is on the lips of the majority of the shooting community is the Eotech EFLX Mini Reflex Sight MRDS.
In the opinion of the editors, the sight from the outside does not stand out with anything special. What attracted our attention, however, is a perfectly marked, red aiming point, uniformly "illuminated", giving the impression of being solid. The impression was also intensified by the sight's lens which, unlike the competition, is not covered with any polarity coating. Our editor in chief was infatuated :)
Let's recall a few features of EFLX. Mounting the sight, the so-called footprint is made in the Leupold Delta Point Pro standard and can be attached to pistols with bolts milled in this standard, or to any other weapon using an appropriate mount or adapter. The emitter has a shape similar to that found in the already known HWS Eotech sights, which will certainly facilitate the adaptation of the shooter to the new sight. The EFLX is available with two dot sizes, 3 and 6 MOA, which have eight daily brightness settings and one that works with night vision goggles. The nice features are undoubtedly the rubber buttons on the left side of the sight used to adjust the brightness of the dot and the external access to the CR2032 battery without the need to remove the sight from the gun. The expected battery life is approx. 20,000 hours (6 MoA dot at setting 5) or 25,000 hours (3 MoA dot at setting 5). The price of the new EFLX mini sight at the manufacturer's website is $ 389.00. The product is to be available in the second quarter of 2022. It is assembled in the USA.
Another new product by Eotech was the series of VUDU scopes, among them the 1-10x28 FFP (First Focal Plane) model stood out.
The new Eotech product is part of the new trend of compact scopes with a magnification of x10, which can be found in the offer of, among others, Vortex. As already mentioned in the introduction, the scope is equipped with a red illuminated reticle in the foreground (available options are shown in the photo below), which is the main feature of "tactical" scopes for shooting at short and medium ranges.
The scope is made of two pieces of aviation grade aluminum (the tube and the zoom adjustment mechanism) and it weighs 603 grams. The windage adjustment is hidden under a safety nut to prevent accidental moving of the reticle, while the elevation adjustment is equipped with a push/pull system that protects the knob from accidental change in adjustment.
Other popular Eotech scopes that were presented at the Shot Show were the 1-6x24 FFP and 1-8x24 SFP models with new green illuminated reticles and the 5-25x50 FFP model with the new MD4 reticle.
