5.11 Tactical, manufacturer responsible for quality Purpose-Built Gear™ equipment followed suit and launched more new products that were announced during SHOT Show 2023. This time, the offer of footwear for everyday use, outdoor activities and exercise has been expanded.
One of the new products are the 5.11® McClane Mid, named after the cult hero played by Bruce Willis in the Die Hard series - John McClane. They are the next generation of the popular 5.11® Norris Sneaker, which were created based on users feedback. The new shoes have improved fit and expanded the range of sizes available. They feature a new tongue made of breathable material and an upgraded Vibram Hexgrip outsole for enhanced grip in all conditions. Inside the 5.11® McClane Mid there are X-40 Ortholite® insoles, which are designed to increase the level of cushioning and comfort during prolonged use. Also worth noting is the resistance of the sole to punctures in accordance with the American ASTM F2413-11 standard. The product is available in two colors: Triple Black and Elmwood for the regular price of $110.
The group of new products also includes other shoes from the Norris family: the 5.11® Foley Mid and the 5.11® Foley Low. As with the model described above, the fit and range of available sizes have also been improved. The Vibram Hexgrip outsole and the X-40 Ortholite® insole have been used here, which improve grip and comfort of using the product in all conditions. A noteworthy addition is the upper made of ballistic nylon, significantly increasing the durability of the footwear. The 5.11® Foley Mid ($80) is available in Triple Black while the 5.11® Foley Low ($75) is available in black and white and Elmwood.
Among the shoes newly introduced to the 5.11 Tactical offer, the A/T™ Trainer 2.0 is also worth mentioning as it is a great choice when practicing various types of sports or during recreation (e.g. hiking, fitness). They will work well as footwear for cycling, as well as in any other activity that requires covering long distances. The 5.11® A/T™ Trainer 2.0 features a durable TPU outer shell and 5.11's All Terrain Load Assistance System Technology, an additional removable plate which provides increased stability when lifting heavy objects. The mesh visible in the outer part of the shoes improves breathability and comfort of using them for a long time. The product is available in Triple Black and is priced at $110.
The 5.11® Maxgrip Trainer also recently joined the manufacturer's offer. It is a model created for exercise enthusiasts, designed for stability, durability and breathability. It has a TPU exoskeleton and a mesh material that improves air circulation and heat dissipation during movement. In addition, this footwear uses a MaxGrip outsole and TPU heel reinforcement to withstand the hardships of the most intense training sessions. The 5.11® Maxgrip Trainer is available in two colors: White/Titan Gray and Black/Titan Gray. The manufacturer's recommended price is 100 USD.
It is worth noting that recently the 5.11 Tactical offer was expanded with military-standard EVO 2.0 8" AR 670-1 and Speed 4.0 8" boots AR 670-1, which we have already had the opportunity to write about.
