There are few designs on the pistol market that go beyond the beaten path. The H9 Hudson pistol was certainly one of them. Its innovative solutions attracted some attention, but the design itself did not stay on the market for long. What is even more surprising is the appearance of a similar platform made by Daniel Defence, a manufacturer known for making AR rifles.
The new Daniel H9 model is a development version of the Hudson Mfg gun. Daniel Defense engineers were involved in its development, which resulted in a completely new standard and high reliability. There is no parts compatibility between the DanielH9 from Daniel Defense and the Hudson H9. This is also reflected in the dimensions that have changed between versions (Hudson H9: 193x132x31mm and 960 g, Daniel H9: 195x130x25mm and 838 g). However, characteristic features have been retained, such as double-sided manipulators, a low-set barrel, a Colt 1911-style grip and trigger. The whole thing is made of aluminum and steel using CNC technology and has an integrated optics mount on the slide. The gun is not yet available in stores, but at the manufacturer's website it is priced at 1299USD.
