One of last year's most interesting new products in the field of thermal imaging is certainly the Telos modular platform, presented by Pulsar during IWA Outdoor Classics 2023.
As announced, the manufacturer is constantly developing this series of products, which we had the opportunity to write about at the beginning of this year. During IWA Outdoor Classics 2024 we could see the newest member of this family - the Pulsar Telos LRF XL50.
This is another device of the Lithuanian manufacturer that uses a thermal sensor with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels (12 μm) with a sensitivity of NETD<40 mK. Combined with F50/1.0 optics, the Telos XL50 has a basic optical magnification of 2.5x and maintains a wide field of view reaching 14°. The detection range for an object the size of a human is estimated at approximately 2300 meters (which is 500 meters more compared to the previous flagship product: the XP50).
Like other thermal imagers in this family, the Telos XL50 displays the image on an AMOLED 1024x768 px screen. The new device is scheduled to hit the stores in June and will be available in two variants: with and without a laser rangefinder module (LRF).
