Springfield Armory has recently introduced a new member of its growing line of 9 mm Hellcat subcompact pistols - a model equipped with an integrated compensator.
The new Hellcat Pro Comp OSP is equipped with a compensator with a single port in the top part of the cold-forged barrel, which, when fired, redirects some of the powder gases upwards through a hole in the top of the slide. According to Springfield, this effectively reduces recoil and improves gun control.
The front sight is positioned behind the compensator, providing an unobstructed aiming, although at the price of a shortened sight line.
Apart from the compensator, the new pistol retains all the standard features of the Hellcat Pro model, including an accessory rail on the lower frame, a Tactical Rack U-Notch rear sight and a tritium dot front sight with a phosphorescent ring.
The new Hellcat Pro Comp OSP is 2.5 cm wide, less than 17 cm long and weighs less than 600 grams.
The Hellcat Pro Comp OSP has a U.S. MSRP of 699 USD. The set includes two magazines holding 15 and 17-rounds.
