At the end of last month, a series of Habrok 4K multispectral binoculars joined the offer of HIKMICRO, a popular manufacturer of advanced optoelectronic devices.

Although the name of the new series suggests progress compared to devices we described by us shortly after Habrok series release, at the moment, the models released as part of the Habrok 4K line seem to be aimed at people who emphasize different aspects of observation.

Habrok 4K binoculars marked as HE25L 5.5-22x60 and HE25LN 5.50-22x60 (differing in the wavelength of the IR illuminator, 850 nm and 940 nm respectively) a CMOS matrix with a resolution increased to 3840x2160 px and 60 mm, F2.2 optics was used. The basic magnification of the classic image layer has increased to 5.5x, which results in more detail visible at a longer ranges, additionally enhanced by a larger number of pixels. The effect of the new configuration is a reduced field of view, which is now 6.9° x 4.1° / 12.0 m × 7.2 m (@100 m).

Despite the use of better and more expensive components for the image layer based on the CMOS sensor, the new devices are clearly cheaper than the previously presented Habrok series. Why? The answer lies in reduced thermal imaging capabilities. The Habrok 4K models introduced so far are equipped with a sensor with a lower resolution - 256x192 px - and smaller optics for the thermal imaging channel - 25 mm. With a base magnification of 4.3x, this results in a detection range of 1200 meters and a field of view of 7.0° × 5.3° / 12.2 m x 9.3 m (@100 m). This means that these binoculars are intended for people whose priority is the quality of observations conducted in the visible light wavelength, and the thermal imager function is rather an addition that facilitates quick target detection.

The new Habrok 4K binoculars retain the design features and other functionalities of the Habrok line products presented last year. In addition, the maximum operating time using 18650 batteries included in the set has been extended, and now reaches up to 8 hours. In Polish stores, these models were priced at about 1600 EUR.
