You can already find the TokyoMaruiAirsoft.com store on the Internet, but we warn against shopping there. As it turns out, the store is in no way associated with the legendary Japanese brand, and its website may mislead buyers. It was also stated that the only social media presence that Tokyo Marui has are profiles on the X/Twitter and BlueSky. All other profiles on other platforms are not associated with the company.
Additionally, Popular Airsoft has officially contacted the PR department of Tokyo Marui and presented the company's position on this matter. We encourage you to read it in the text below:
Popular Airsoft (PA): Is “Tokyo Marui Airsoft” an official direct sales web shop of Tokyo Marui and are you aware of the existence of this company allegedly using your company name and branding?
Tokyo Marui (TM): To be honest, we have no relationship with “Tokyo Marui Airsoft” and, they are not an official direct sales web store of Tokyo Marui. We are aware of the existence of this company since we have received the questions about this site from our customers of Japan. As you mentioned earlier, in that some customers have misidentified that this site is the official Tokyo Marui online store, we are considering how to deal with this issue.
PA: If “Tokyo Marui Airsoft” is not related to Tokyo Marui, what action are you taking for airsoft customers in Japan and overseas not to be confused in associating this company to yours?
TM: If it is causing any confusion among air soft players not only in Japan but also overseas, we are thinking of taking appropriate action including the use of the Tokyo Marui logo without permission.
PA: Will you require “Tokyo Marui Airsoft” to change their business name and a disclaimer that they are not related to your company?
TM: In regard to the concrete action, we ask you to wait for the future announcement. First of all, we would like to take this opportunity to inform all airsoft players that we are by no means related to “Tokyo Marui Airsoft,” in order to avoid causing unnecessary confusion.
PA: With regards to Airsoft International Magazine, is it safe to assume that you have no existing contract as an exclusive advertiser and media partner with your company as their agreement is with “Tokyo Marui Airsoft”?
TM: We have no contract with Airsoft International Magazine. Thus, we aren’t an exclusive advertiser or media partner with the company. We saw their post on Facebook and have contacted them separately.
PA: Do you think Airsoft International has also confused “Tokyo Marui Airsoft” for “Tokyo Marui”?
TM: As far as we can see this site, they might confuse “Tokyo Marui Airsoft” for “Tokyo Marui” too.
PA: Overseas airsoft resellers want to buy direct wholesale from your company, is there a way for them to do so? If not, any recommendations on how the process of ordering Tokyo Marui products is made easier for them via distributors and partners?
TM: Tokyo Marui Shimamura: Regarding the exports, we know that there has been a request for some time. However, our products are made by hand in our own factory and so it’s not easy to increase [the] production. Also, the most important thing is that it is highly challenging to make [the] products that comply with regulations of each country.
PA: Do you have authorized distributors outside of Japan that resellers can contact? Who are they?
TM: All Tokyo Marui products are made by specifications for domestic Japan, and we provide them for Japanese wholesalers only. We don’t have any authorized distributors out of Japan.
