Last year, the first Osight red dot sights, as a brand of the well known flashlights manufacturer Olight, has appeared on the market. Now, Osight has entered the market as an independent department focused on creating innovative solutions in the field of rd dot sights. The manufacturer marked its presence during the ongoing SHOT Show 2025, presenting two new sights models: Osight S and Osight X.
Despite their different characteristics, the new products have many common features, including compatibility with a magnetic charger (acting as a cover), a system with three reticles (in red), and the use of the new OAL™ aluminum alloy in the sights' construction. According to the manufacturer, this material is almost as light as the popular 7075 aluminum, but much more durable.
Osight S is a small and low-profile, closed red dot sight designed for mounting, among other things, on compact EDC pistols, also in IWB holsters. It has a RMSc standard footprint and many sets of mounting screws, which increase its compatibility with various designs and facilitates mounting on optics-ready slides.
Inside the sight's housing there is a high-quality aspherical lens measuring 21 mm x 14 mm. Osight S offers 3 types of reticles: a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle and a combination of a dot and a circle. Brightness adjustment (10 daytime settings + 2 designed for cooperation with night vision) can be done manually or with the help of automatic light intensity sensor. The built-in 46 mAh battery allows for 21,900 hours of operation at the third brightness setting (but only with using the 2 MOA dot) without recharging using the aforementioned cover.
Osight X is a slightly larger open red dot sight designed primarily for sports shooting and in some respects (shape, power supply, lens size, presence of a motion sensor) resembles last year's Olight Osight model. It also uses the popular RMR standard footprint.
A coated lens measuring approximately 24 mm x 21.5 mm has been built into the housing. Similarly to the Osight S model described above, the user can switch between three reticles, and the only change is the size of the dot, which in the Osight X is 3 MOA. Brightness adjustment (10 daytime modes and 2 for NV) can be made manually or using the Auto Light Adjust function. Inside, there is a non-replaceable 170 mAh battery that is sufficient for 57,000 hours of operation in similar conditions. Additionally, the sight's operation and energy saving are supported by the automatic power on/off system of the sight which works via movement detection and turns off the power after 10 minutes of being idle.
Osight S is priced at 249.99 USD, and the price of Osight X is 229.99 USD. Both products meet high water resistance standards (IPX-7 and IPX-6 respectively) and are covered by the manufacturer's lifetime warranty. Versions offering a green reticle are also being prepared but their release date is not yet known.
