According to information provided by Taiwan News, by the end of June 2025 the Taiwanese military will begin receiving deliveries of domestically developed T112 anti-material rifles.
The deliveries were originally planned for 2024 and were to be combined with shipments of T112 carbines, as we reported last April. However, as stated by CNA, the entire process encountered delays due to material procurement issues, and the production schedule has been revised accordingly.
According to available information, the T112 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 12.7×108 mm fed from 10-round magazines. Its weight is approximately 12 kilograms, and its effective range is said to be up to 2,000 meters.
The Taiwanese Armaments Bureau emphasizes that the T112 is the first weapon of its kind developed by the 205th Factory. Previously, such rifles were bought abroad due to the stringent requirements for barrel manufacturing precision and the limited demand from the military. In order to develop domestic production capabilities, the 205th Factory has developed key components, including the rifle body, stock, barrel, and trigger mechanism. This initiative represents an important milestone in Taiwan’s defense manufacturing sector.
