The MAPA camouflage was developed by ASP prof. dr hab. Maciej Dojlitko during the Polish future soldier program called TYTAN. After quite a long period, the camouflage finally found its way into the civilian market in 2021 under its own brand MAPA (Polish MAPA camo! First photos in the field). Yesterday, a development version of this camouflage concept appeared on social media under the name HYDRA. The project is still under the supervision of ASP prof. dr hab. Maciej Dojlitko. Not much was said about the HYDRA camouflage itself, only a new, developmental pattern was presented. As you can see in the photos, it is characterized by the introduction of more brown color and elements imitating a 3D pattern.
As you can read in the published post: "HYDRA uses complex tonal transition patterns and advanced perception mechanisms, which allows it to effectively mask the silhouette in various terrain conditions. It also has a unique visual character."
The author emphasizes that the project is not related to the Maskpol company, responsible for the production of uniforms in the MAPA camouflage.
Will we see this new camouflage on the market and in what form? Time will tell, and we will be closely following and reporting every news about the new HYDRA camouflage.
