Geissele has introduced the AK-X trigger module — a “drop-in” solution designed for AK platforms that aims to provide shooters with a more predictable and precise trigger mechanism without the need to disassemble the traditional spring assemblies and small parts. The manufacturer touts a cassette-style construction, which allows installation on a “drop–in” basis, simplifying fitting and eliminating common issues related to matching individual parts.
The main advantage of the AK-X is its two-stage trigger character, designed to deliver a distinct wall and a clean, repeatable break. Thanks to the use of the patented Lightning Bow plate, the module is said to provide a linear, predictable trigger action that for many users will be a significant improvement over standard factory-installed solutions in AK rifles.
In press materials and initial equipment reports, the trigger pull weight is given at approximately about 3.5–4 pounds depending on the unit, which places the AK-X in the premium module segment aimed at users demanding precision and repeatability from their trigger. Retail price listings indicate a figure of around $350 range, making the product noticeably more expensive than many simpler solutions available on the market.
The manufacturer declares compatibility of the module with “standard” AK designs, with the caveat that not all variants and platform modifications will fit perfectly without individual fitting.
