Vortex Optics has unveiled the new Razor HD Gen III 4-24x44 FFP scope, which combines modern optical capabilities with contemporary tactical needs. This model was designed as a high-end variable-power optic with a first focal plane (FFP) reticle, offering versatility for both medium- and long-range applications.

The new scope is part of the Razor HD Gen III line — a series regarded as some of the most optically efficient products in the Vortex brand lineup. The use of a 44 mm lens ensures excellent light transmission and image clarity, while placing the reticle in the first focal plane keeps the proportions of the subtensions consistent at any magnification level, which is crucial for holding over and making real-time corrections.

Although the standard Razor 4-24x44 models are typically offered with MRAD- or MOA-based reticles (such as the EBR-7D MRAD or the EBR-7D MOA), the platform itself has been designed to support both systems.

MRAD (milliradians) is a system popular in tactical and military applications, making ballistic calculations easier when using metric units.

MOA (minutes of angle) remains preferred in many civilian environments and shooting competitions.

Vortex therefore simplifies the choice for shooters, who can select a version with a reticle that matches their individual preferences or the standards used within their shooting group.

The magnification range from 4x to 24x provides a wide field of view at low power and high detail at maximum magnification — ideal for tactical use and precision long-range shooting. Versions of the scope are available with the EBR-7D reticle in either MRAD or MOA — in both cases located in the first focal plane. The construction is resistant to external conditions — the body is made from high-strength anodized aluminum and is waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof. The L-Tec+™ zeroing system allows for quick and precise zero stop setup. The scope is also equipped with a wide parallax adjustment range from close distances to infinity. The reticle is illuminated, with brightness adjustable in 10 levels.

The use of the high-quality Razor HD optical system and XR™ Plus coatings primarily ensures excellent image resolution and light transmission, resulting in a sharper, brighter image even in low-light conditions or at high magnification.

The new 4–24x44 FFP model perfectly meets the needs of a wide spectrum of users — from tactical shooters, through precision competitions (e.g., PRS/ELR), to hunters looking for a versatile scope for varied conditions. Thanks to the wide magnification range and the option to choose the reticle system (MRAD or MOA), the scope covers the two most popular standards on the market and gives users the freedom to adapt it to their working style and preferred measurement tools.
