Last year, the Asian brand Olight, known for its wide range of flashlights, took its first steps into the optics category with the Osight S and Osight X red dot sights (Osight S and Osight X Red Dot Sights), introducing an innovative approach to battery charging using a dedicated protective cover. At the beginning of 2026, new Osight XR and Osight C GN models were introduced.
Osight XR
The Osight XR model follows the design of the S and X models with an additional charger integrated into the attachable cover. However, the entire construction of the red dot sight has been redesigned. It is now fully enclosed, features a larger lans and distortion-free lenses, and offers 5 reticle variants (2 MOA dot and 6 MOA dot, circle, circle with 2 MOA dot, and circle with 6 MOA dot), automatic shut-off after a set time or inactivity, and automatic activation upon motion detection.
Additionally, the design features an integrated rear sight that can be folded down into the body of the optic without obstructing the window’s field of view. The mounting standard of the new Osight XR model is the popular RMR footprint.
Osight C GN
The Osight C GN model is a more classic open-emitter red dot variant with a green reticle and without the option of magnetic charging. No structural changes have been made, and the model continues to offer 3 reticle variants (3 MOA dot, 3 MOA circle-dot, circle), motion activation, and automatic shut-off. The change concerns battery life — thanks to the use of a green emitter, operating time has been increased from the declared approximately 30,000 hours to around 70,000 hours.
