The collaboration between the American Magpul and Ruger brands was announced at the beginning of 2026, along with the introduction of their first joint product in the form of the RXM pistol—a modular design based on the principles and components of GlockGen 3 pistols (What Ruger showed at Shot Show). As it turns out, this is not the only collaboration between these brands, as evidenced by the refreshed version of the LCP MAX pistol. The LCP pistol in .380 Auto caliber is classified in the Micro-Compact category and is one of the smaller options available on the market.

The updated model features a new EHT (Enhanced Handgun Grip) from Magpul, which includes an enlarged, switchable magazine release, a higher beavertail, additional texturing covering ¾ of the grip surface, and new magazines capable of holding 13 rounds. Additionally, the slide shape has been modified to more closely resemble the RXM, introducing more angular lines in the rear section. The slide is equipped exclusively with iron sights in the form of a classic U-notch rear sight and a front sight with a tritium insert (although earlier versions also included models with dedicated optics).

A manual thumb safety has also been retained. Both the new model and the EHT grip from Magpul are already available for purchase. The grips are offered in four color variants: black, gray, tan, and olive, priced at $40 for the grip and $449 for the Ruger LCP MAX pistol with two magazines (with capacities of 13 and 10 rounds).
