At SHOT Show 2026, the Ruger brand presented several interesting new products that expand its portfolio across various segments – from classic rifles, through modern AR platforms, to refreshed versions of well-known designs.

One of the more important debuts was the presentation of new variants from the Ruger American Rifle Generation II family, including the “Patrol” model with a 16.1-inch barrel and Cerakote finish, available in calibers such as 5.56 NATO, 6 mm ARC, and .308 Winchester. Ruger has also announced additional chamberings for this series, including .338 ARC and 7 mm PRC, making it a more versatile option for hunting, tactical shooting, and recreational use alike.

In the classic firearms segment, the company revived its over-and-under shotgun – the Ruger Red Label in a 20-gauge version with 28- and 30-inch barrels, offering traditional aesthetics and build quality, featuring a Turkish walnut stock and a mechanical trigger reset.

Among updates to existing models, attention was drawn to the refreshed Ruger LC Carbine Gen 2 – the second generation of the popular carbine chambered in 5.7×28 mm. The Gen 2 version has been refined in terms of ergonomics, balance, and trigger, as well as improved suppressor compatibility, addressing some of the earlier user feedback.

Ruger’s booth also featured a modernized Ruger 10/22 with a factory-installed BX Trigger and a rear receiver port for easier cleaning, making this classic platform even more user-friendly and easier to maintain.

At SHOT Show 2026, Ruger also showcased its new RXM pistol – a design that has generated significant interest in the shooting community since its debut as a modern, modular 9 mm handgun. The RXM is the result of a collaboration between Ruger and Magpul, whose contribution is most evident in the ergonomic, interchangeable grip module and broad compatibility with Magpul accessories.

The RXM is a full-size 9×19 mm Luger pistol with a standard 15-round magazine capacity. Its design is based on a modular Fire Control Insert (FCI) – a removable serialized trigger unit that allows for quick grip module changes to other compatible Magpul frames. This solution is reminiscent of systems used in other popular modular handguns, but in the case of the RXM it combines this flexibility with compatibility with Glock Gen 3–pattern components, accepting items such as magazines and certain internal parts.

The pistol features a four-inch barrel and a slide with optic-cut serrations ready for mounting popular red-dot sights in RMR, RMSc, or DeltaPoint Pro standards, as well as metal iron sights with a tritium front sight tall enough for co-witnessing with an optic. The overall weight is approximately 658 g.

The RXM had already been available on the market prior to the show, but at SHOT Show 2026 Ruger displayed it alongside other new products, emphasizing its configurability and customization options, as well as different color variants and threaded-barrel versions entering production. It is a project aimed at competing in the modern 9 mm pistol segment, combining classic solutions with contemporary modularity and broad aftermarket support.

In summary, Ruger’s SHOT Show 2026 lineup demonstrated the manufacturer’s effort to balance innovation with the continued development of proven product lines. We saw both entirely new models and platforms, such as the Harrier MSR, as well as the revival of classics like the Red Label, along with improvements to established designs that may appeal to both enthusiasts of modern rifles and fans of traditional firearms.
