Nightforce Optics kicked off 2026 with the launch of its new NX6 family of riflescopes, comprising 10 variants with magnification ranges from 1–6×24 to 6–36×56. The manufacturer is targeting hunters, tactical shooters and competitive shooters, as well as users interested in precision shooting at long distances. One of the key features of the series is the new turret system, designed to combine repeatable adjustments with a simpler and more flexible way of configuring the scope. The NX6 family was officially announced on January 14, 2026, and just a few days later the entire series could be seen at SHOT Show 2026. The models are currently available in Poland through the brand's representative, Hubertus Pro.
Nightforce Optics has been operating since 1992 and specializes in the production of optical equipment. The brand's communications regularly feature three terms describing its approach to design: Rugged, Reliable and Repeatable. With the NX6, the manufacturer has combined these principles with lighter and easier-to-use designs.
One of the key features of the NX6 is the new FieldSet adjustment system. FieldSet allows the zero to be set quickly without specialized tools, while the turret and stop position can be reset using a readily available tool. The package also includes a dedicated multifunctional NX6 Multi-Tool, which can be used, among other things, to configure the FieldSet system. The system is available in either capped or exposed configurations, while selected models can also use interchangeable BDC turrets whose markings can be customized to specific ballistic data. The two 1–6×24 versions are the exception: they do not feature FieldSet and instead use conventional capped, finger-adjustable turrets. On the remaining F2 models, the factory configuration is capped and can be converted to an exposed setup, while F1 scopes, with the exception of the 1–6×24 F1, come with an exposed FieldSet as standard.
Another important element differentiating the individual NX6 variants is the selection of reticles. Nightforce has prepared a range of reticles for both users who prefer the simplest and clearest sight picture possible and shooters who make use of more elaborate graduations for making corrections at distance. The lineup includes first and second focal plane reticles, as well as MRAD and MOA reticles and a BDC solution.
One of the simpler reticles is the 4A-i, a simplified version of the 4A reticle. Thicker elements along the sides and bottom help the shooter quickly locate the central aiming point, while the illuminated dot makes aiming easier in changing lighting conditions. A different approach is represented by the FC-6c, a BDC reticle designed primarily for multi-gun competitions. BDC (Bullet Drop Compensator) uses reference points that account for bullet drop at different distances, eliminating the need to adjust the turret settings for every range. The FC-6c is optimized for heavier .223 Remington and 5.56 mm projectiles. With the scope zeroed at 100 yards (91.44 m), the BDC reference points allow corrections corresponding to distances of up to 600 yards (548.64 m), while additional markings on the sides of the reticle allow for wind corrections. The reticle features a brightly illuminated central aiming point.
The FC-DMx reticle was designed for rapid target acquisition at low magnification while still providing more precise reference points as magnification increases. The reticle uses a segmented circle measuring 4 MRAD in diameter with an open center that reduces target obstruction. The center features a 0.2 MRAD dot, while the remainder of the reticle uses 1 MRAD graduations. A similar solution for the 2–12× range is offered by the FC-MRx. At low magnification, the segmented circle and thickened outer elements make it easier to quickly locate the target, while at higher magnification the open center provides an unobstructed view. The reticle features 1 MRAD graduations extending to 20 MRAD. An MOA version, the FC-MRx, is also available.
Nightforce has also retained the MOAR family in its new designs. The MOAR 20 MOA version features an additional 20 MOA elevation scale below the main horizontal line, while the MOAR 30 MOA provides a similar solution with an extended correction range. The most specialized reticle in the NX6 family for small targets is the FVR-1, or Fine Varmint Reticle-1. It was designed for engaging small, often camouflaged targets at long distances. The reticle features an illuminated central aiming point and very fine crosshairs that minimize target obstruction.
For users focused on precision shooting at longer distances, Nightforce offers the MIL-C, MIL-XT, MOA-C and MOA-XT reticles. The MIL-C F1 uses a floating central dot measuring 0.05 MRAD, along with 0.2 MRAD graduations on the horizontal bars for making windage corrections. The design also incorporates a range-estimation feature offset from the main axis. The MIL-XT expands on this concept by offering a greater number of reference points. In addition to the central dot, it features floating dots arranged along the vertical axis and horizontal graduations. MOA-based reticles are also available, namely the MOA-XT and MOA-C. The former uses a floating central dot and 1 MOA graduations, with numerical markings every 2 MOA. Its horizontal section uses a dot pattern with more prominent reference points every 4 MOA. The MOA-C, meanwhile, is based on the same general concept as the MIL-C but uses MOA graduations.
The smallest member of the new family is the NX6 1–6×24 SFP. This scope weighs 541 g and measures 259 mm in length, with a 30 mm tube. Its 1–6× magnification range classifies it as an LPVO, offering a wide field of view at 1× and more detailed observation at 6×. The manufacturer has used a second focal plane, keeping the reticle visually stable as magnification is changed. The scope features conventional capped, finger-adjustable turrets, with 0.5 MOA clicks and 120 MOA of adjustment in both elevation and windage. Parallax is factory-set at 125 yards, or approximately 114 m. The field of view is approximately 38.7 m at 100 m at 1×, decreasing to around 6.4 m at 100 m at 6×. Eye relief is 4 inches, or 101 mm, while exit pupil measures 7.4 mm at 1× and 4.0 mm at 6×. Illumination is provided by an externally adjustable daylight-visible system. This variant is available with two reticles: 4A-i and FC-6c. The NX6 1–6×24 F1 is based on a similar design but differs primarily in its first focal plane and reticle. It is a compact scope measuring 259 mm and weighing 536 g, with a 30 mm tube. It uses a first focal plane reticle. Adjustments are in 0.2 MRAD clicks, with a total adjustment range of 34.9 MRAD in both elevation and windage. Parallax, field of view, eye relief and exit pupil remain the same as in the SFP version. The scope uses the FC-DMx reticle.
The NX6 2–12×42 SFP weighs 652 g, measures 318 mm and offers a maximum magnification of 12×. The scope has a 30 mm tube, a capped FieldSet turret and 0.25 MOA clicks. The adjustment range is 115 MOA in elevation and 90 MOA in windage. Parallax is adjustable from 10 m to infinity. The field of view is 16.7 m at 2× and 3.3 m at 12× per 100 m. Eye relief is 89 mm, while exit pupil measures 7.5 and 3.5 mm, respectively. Illumination is provided by the Digillum system, allowing the reticle brightness to be adjusted to prevailing lighting conditions. This variant is available with MOAR and 4A-i reticles. The NX6 2–12×42 F1 weighs 655 g and measures 318 mm, uses a 30 mm tube and features an exposed FieldSet. Users can choose between 0.25 MOA or 0.1 MRAD clicks, with an adjustment range of 115 MOA, or 33.4 MRAD, in elevation and 90 MOA, or 26.2 MRAD, in windage. Parallax is adjustable from 10 m to infinity. The field of view is 16.7 m at 2× per 100 m, decreasing to 3.2 m at 12×. Eye relief remains at 89 mm. The model uses the FC-MRx reticle, specifically developed for the 2–12×42 F1.
The NX6 3–18×50 SFP offers magnification up to 18×. It weighs 757 g and measures 353 mm in length, while still using a 30 mm tube. The manufacturer provides 120 MOA of elevation adjustment and 85 MOA of windage adjustment, with 0.25 MOA clicks and parallax adjustment from 10 m to infinity. The field of view is 11.8 m per 100 m at 3× and just 2.4 m at 18×. Exit pupil ranges from 7.4 to 2.8 mm. The scope is equipped with Digillum and a capped FieldSet. The 3–18×50 SFP is available with either the 4A-i or MOAR reticle. The NX6 3–18×50 F1, meanwhile, uses a first focal plane reticle. The scope weighs 768 g, measures 353 mm and also uses a 30 mm tube. Adjustment range is 120 MOA, or 34.9 MRAD, in elevation and 85 MOA, or 24.7 MRAD, in windage. Users can choose between 0.25 MOA or 0.1 MRAD clicks. The FieldSet is exposed on this model. The F1 version offers a considerably wider selection of reticles: MIL-C, MIL-XT, MOA-XT and MOA-C.
Another new model is the NX6 4–24×50, available exclusively in the SFP version. Measuring 353 mm and weighing 774 g, it is only slightly heavier than the 3–18×50, but offers greater maximum magnification. The tube remains 30 mm, adjustment range is 115 MOA in elevation and 85 MOA in windage, while the FieldSet is used in a capped configuration with the option to configure it as exposed. Parallax can be adjusted from 10 m to infinity. The field of view is 8.8 m per 100 m at 4× and 1.7 m at 24×. Eye relief remains at 89 mm, while exit pupil decreases from 7.1 to 2.1 mm. Nightforce describes this model as a solution for, among others, hunters operating in open terrain, predator hunters and law enforcement or military users. The model is available with either the 4A-i or MOAR 20 MOA reticle. The NX6 5–30×56 F1 offers a magnification range more typical of optics intended for long-range shooting. The scope measures 379 mm, weighs 876 g and has a 34 mm tube. Elevation adjustment reaches 120 MOA, or 34.9 MRAD, while windage adjustment is 85 MOA, or 24.7 MRAD. The FieldSet is exposed, clicks can be set to 0.25 MOA or 0.1 MRAD, and parallax adjustment starts at 10 m and extends to infinity. The field of view at 5× is 8.1 m per 100 m, while at 30× it decreases to 1.3 m. Exit pupil measures 7.2 and 1.9 mm, respectively. The model is available with MIL-C, MIL-XT, MOA-C and MOA-XT reticles.
The widest magnification range among the SFP models is offered by the NX6 6–36×56. Adjustment range is 115 MOA in elevation and 85 MOA in windage, clicks are 0.25 MOA, and parallax can be adjusted from 10 m to infinity. The field of view is 6.5 m per 100 m at 6× and 1.1 m at 36×. As magnification increases, the exit pupil decreases from 7.2 mm at 6× to 1.6 mm at 36×. Eye relief is 89 mm. This model features Digillum and a capped FieldSet. The scope weighs 890 g, measures 389 mm in length and has a 34 mm tube. A characteristic feature of the NX6 6–36×56 SFP is the previously described FVR-1 reticle, developed for small and difficult-to-locate targets.
NX6 6–36×56 F1 retains the 389 mm length and 34 mm tube, but its weight increases to 896 g. The model features FFP, an exposed FieldSet, 0.25 MOA or 0.1 MRAD clicks, and an adjustment range of 115 MOA, or 33.4 MRAD, in elevation and 85 MOA, or 24.7 MRAD, in windage. Parallax also starts at 10 m. The field of view remains the same as on the SFP version: 6.5 m per 100 m at 6× and 1.1 m at 36×, while exit pupil measures 7.2 and 1.6 mm, respectively. Eye relief is slightly greater at 90 mm. Available reticles include MIL-C, MIL-XT, MOA-C and MOA-XT.
The NX6 occupies a position in Nightforce's lineup as a versatile field-oriented family combining relatively low weight, a bright image and ease of use with extensive configuration options. It is aimed at hunters, tactical users and competitive shooters looking for durable optics tailored to their individual needs. The FieldSet system is a good example of this approach, allowing users to adapt the turret configuration to the way they intend to use their firearm.
