This may be closely related to reports about the purchase of these machines by Polish Special Forces. Unofficially, there are still talks about creating an airforce component with the structures of GROM.

As we read on the website of the Ministry of National Defense, 20 December 2019 (Friday), at 11.30 at the 1st Transport Aviation Base, Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense, will take part in the handing over of 4 Sikorsky S-70i helicopters to the Special Forces.

Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense on 25 January 2019, signed a contract for the purchase of S-70i Black Hawk helicopters for the Special Forces. The subject of the contract was the delivery of 4 helicopters for special aerial operations along with a logistics and training package. According to the contract, as part of the logistics package, the contractor will supply spare parts and consumables as well as equipment for the needs of ground handling of the helicopters, and will conduct comprehensive pilot and technical staff training as part of the training package.

The contract was signed with the Polskie Zakłady Lotnicze Sp. z o.o. in Mielec, and its value was 683.4 million PLN gross.
