BRIEFLY
Have no fear of the devil - get familiar with a new Blaster series.
In 2009 another product joined the family of airsoft pellets: Devil - which is high-end series of Blaster. We had a first chance to take a look at it thanks to Paweł Migała (Sales Europe) who presented this product to us, while visiting Action Sport Games A/S stand during IWA 2009.
BB Devil are promoted as a high quality product with over avarage characteristics - high precision BBs. Thanks to courtesy of Action Sport Games A/S which had decided to support them for the test purposes, we had a chance to review this product. Test was pursued in two parts - laboratory test and practical shooting.
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
BB Devil are available in number of weights: starting with 0.2g up to 0.4g. We have received them in plastic bottles, carrying 3000BB each. Colours: 0.2g, 0.25g, 0.28 and 0.3g are white (only 0.2g is a bit cream-coloured). Heaviest 0.36g are green, 0.4g - beige.
Suggestive "devilish" logo and aggresive design set the attractiveness of whole package. Slogan is obviously emphasize exceptional characteristics of the product.
LAB TEST
Vintorez, our lab specialist precisely analized BB Devil and compared them to other three well-known products. He focused on the weight, diameter, structure homogeneity and surface smoothness. This test was to check the overall quality and find defeciences (if any).
For each test randomly chosen 10 BB of a kind. Result is an avarage. If there were any differences in weight - picture shows the lowest value.

2. BB Devil in comparison with Bioval, Xtreme and Blaster.
In comparison with BBB Bioval, 0.27g and 0.30g, BB Devil are a bit behind. Accuracy and convergence with Bioval have no competition yet. It is not to a surprise since Bioval are considered to be among the best available on the market.
Bioval BBB MAX 0.27 g have seamless surface, and its structure is precisely homogenous without noticeable inclusions.
ø 5.946 mm
Weight: 0.274 g
Bioval BBB MAX 0.30 g have polished, seamless surface, without visible injection point and its structure is homogenous without noticeable inclusions.
ø 5.973 mm
Weight range: 0.292 g -0.299 g.
In comparison to Xtreme Precision there are no major differences, also during practical shooting tests. BB Devil have comparable characteristics.
Xtreme 0.20 g have polished, seamless surface, without visible injection point and its structure is homogenous without noticeable inclusions.
ø 5.960 mm
Weight: 0.205 g
BB Devil have much better characteristics than standard Blaster series - which we proved in comparison.
Blaster 0.20 g: surface with a noticeable seam and injection point. Structure homogeneous without noticeable inclusions.
ø 5.973 mm
Weight: 0.204 g
Blaster 0.25 g: surface with a noticeable seam and injection point. Structure homogeneous without noticeable inclusions.
ø 5.967 mm

Blaster 0.30 g: surface with a noticeable seam and injection point. Structure homogeneous without noticeable inclusions.
ø 5.920 mm
Range in a weight difference: 0.288g - 0.294g.
LAB TEST SUMMARY
BB Devil are at the similar level as BB Xtreme. Its characteristics are much better than the standard Blaster series and are a step forward in quality.
PRACTICAL TEST
In the second part of the test we have shot BB Devil with a number of handguns and long firearm replicas. Test was to observe each of the respective BB Devil weights in action - to get results regarding its trajectory and accuracy/convergence.
It is impossible to perfectly test and measure BB characteristics in open air tests. There are too many factors influencing trajectory. Sometimes we might get the three different opinions from three players regarding same BB series. From a technical point of view the only competent test is that one in the lab. Practical test was dedicated to get as many as possible opinions and impressions and obviously to observe how they perform with different replicas - of different characteristics and designation.
Our conclusions (except for the accuracy) are based on opinions of the players testing them in open air and therefore are subjective. Our goal was to observe the BB Devil performance in the biggest number of different replicas: of well known brands, as well as of mainland China budget series. There were stock, upgraded, likewise custom replicas used during this test.
There were differences in barrel lenght, diameter and muzzle velocity. Target range, BB weight was chosen each time to match replica possibilities and in accordance to players choice. Short firearms and AEG dedicated for CQB or just with a shorter inner barrel were tested in distance of 25 meters. With higher velocity and longer barrels, replicas were tested in longer distances respectively.
CONCLUSIONS
Because of a long list of target shooting, we decided to start with our conclusions while detailed results are presented a bit below.
We are aware of all the limits and subjective character of open air tests, though we believe it is very close to real usage during a game. Weather conditions like the temperature and wind were obviously affecting our tests. Most of the testers were very familiar with their own replicas, so they might observe all the differences in performance to other BB pellets.
BB Devil are made with a care for precision. Smooth polished surface is an advantage, especially as far as precise inner barrel is concerned. On the other hand it requires some time to accurately adjust HU, which performed in a slightly different way, than other BBs (for comparison). HU adjustment difficulty wasn't the same for all BB Devil weights. When HU was adjusted properly, most of the weights' performance was good - especially 0.28g, 0.30g and 0.36g.
Among tested weights, the worst results were those of BB Devil 0.2g. It was difficult to get a good HU setting as well. Even though, in short distances and low power replicas it had a tolerable accuracy, though as mentioned above - HU adjustment difficulties resulted in pretty negative opinions.
The best accuracy among Devil BBs had those of 0.28g weight, almost on every replica. The recurrence was also very good. It is common opinion for every player taking part in our test. Devil 0.25g performance was just a bit behind though with still good results. Opinions were almost as ananimous as about 0.28g. To summarize BB Devil 0.28g made a very good impression, next were 0.25g with really good performance.
Among those of higher weights, the best impressions we had with 0.3g, which trajectory had been better than the other weights. Not bad, though not as good as previous, were 0.36g BB. The worst accuracy and convergence had Devil 0.4g BB. Those bad results in comparison to 0.3g and 0.36g is most probably due to non-homogeneous structure of the heaviest BBs. In general it is true that heavy 0.3g and 0.36g have a good performance when used in high muzzle velocity replicas. We didn't have a chance to check out 0.4g BB performance in sniper-type replicas which could exceed 600fps. There is a chance that results would be better or a bit different at least (as it was in Systema PTW 560fps where recurrence was on a good level).
After getting familiar with all the opinions and conclusions of the players taking part in our test, we might say that BB Blaster Devil are simply a good product. It is difficult to point out any strong advantages but they are comparable with good BBs of popular brands like Xtreme Precision or ICS. It is clear that they might be used properly with precise inner barrels: for hundreds (or rather thousands) of taken shots, with over 30 replicas - moments they jammed happened just a few times. In accordance to practical shooting tests, we may decisively recommend Devil 0.28g and 0.3g. Very good performance have also Devil 0.36g and 0.25g.

3. Short comparison test
Even though we had some comparison in the lab test, we decided to pursue a short comparison test also in open air: in distance of 30 meters with a light wind.
We have compared BB Devil 0.25g with 0.25g Goldenball and 0.25g ICS. Tested with CA G36 replica, 350fps (BB Devil / BB Goldenball) and KA Galil ARM, fps: 340, (BB Devil / BB ICS).
BB Goldenball:
BB Devil result, though after a long lasting HU adjustment, after first series of shots were unsatisfactory.
Similar results we had while shooting with BB ICS. We may say that BB Devil are neither better neither worse than both compared brands. Each time similar number of hits have found its way to silhouette.
Blaster Devil BBs were tested thanks to courtesy of Action Sport Games A/S:
WMasg editors' team would like to pass greetings to all airsoft maniacs who have helped during practical shooting part of this test.
