SIG Sauer P220 Legion SAO is a semi-automatic pistol based on an aluminum alloy frame and chambered for the powerful 10 mm Auto (10x25 mm) round feed from a single stack magazine containing 8 rounds. The second feature defining the model seems to be the single-action trigger mechanism (SAO) with a double-sided safety instead of a decocker (hammer release), for obvious reasons.
A characteristic feature of the entire Legion line are G10 plastic grip panels that have medallions on both sides depicting the line logo. It is also present on the slide. Most of the metal parts have been finished in Legion Gray. The X-RAY3 iron sights, with tritium inserts, have been mounted on the slide.

The corrections include, among other things, a stainless steel recoil spring rod, improved texture of the front part of the grip and ribbing in the front part of the slide to facilitate reloading. The SIG Sauer P220 Legion pistol is supplied with three 8 round magazines.
