The PARD company, which specializes in creating night vision and thermal imaging devices, has released a new model of a sight combining these technologies: the TD32-70. The manufacturer's plans were known earlier, because during the previous SHOT Show 2023 fair, the presented its prototype, the multispectral TD5 model, which we wrote about here..

An interesting fact is that the previously announced model was supposed to feature a new PARD sensor with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, but the final TD32-70 version has a CMOS 1920x1080 matrix .

In addition to an FHD sensor with a sensitivity of 0.001 lux, which is to ensure good image quality both during the day and at night, the sight also uses an uncooled VOx 12 µm thermal sensor with a resolution of 384x288 pixels and a promising NETD ≤25 mK parameter. The image is displayed on a circular IPS 800x800 pixel screen with eye relief up to 100 mm. The PARD TD32-70 can also record videos in resolutions 1024x768 (for the thermal channel) and 1440x1080 pixels (for the CMOS channel).

The other features and parameters of the new product are also known. The image in the thermal layer is refreshed 50 times per second. The basic magnification is 3x (with a 6x digital zoom feature) which, in combination with a 12 µm sensor and a 35 mm lens, allows to detect an object the size of a human from a distance of up to 1400 meters while keeping a 5.7°x5.7° field of view.

The layer based on the CMOS sensor offers a base magnification of 6.5x (5.6x was announced for the TD5 model) with the possibility of using 2x digital magnification. The low refresh rate of only 30 Hz may be a bit worrying. The field of view of the optical sensor is 2.6°x2.6°.

There are many additional functions at the user's disposal, including a laser rangefinder module (LRF), an IR illuminator, a ballistic calculator, Picture in Picture mode, a microphone, an electronic compass, USB-C + HDMI, as well as wireless Wi-Fi connectivity. The new PARD is powered by a single Li-Ion type 21700 cell, which lasts up to 6 hours of continuous operation of the device.

The product is made of aluminum alloy, weighs 845 grams with the power supply (800 g without the battery), is protected against water and dust according to the high IP67 standard and is adapted for use on weapons that generate up to 6000 J of recoil.

The price of the PARD TD32-70 sight is $3,999.
