Heckler & Koch has updated its popular series of pistols, the VP9, and in 2025 introduced the new A1 standard. It offers a range of ergonomic improvements, features a better trigger, and includes more magazine options.
HK launched the first striker-fired pistol with a polymer frame, the Volkspistole 9, in 2014 to complement its popular USP series. Over the past decade, it has achieved near-iconic status. The new VP9A1 series retains all the features users loved while enhancing the weapon's ergonomics and handling. The new series will include the full-size model VP9A1 F, with a 4.53-inch barrel, and a more compact model, the VP9A1 K, with a 4.09-inch barrel.
A new feature in this series is a fully customizable grip, which operates with interchangeable backstraps and side panels. Additionally, ambidextrous controls have been improved, the trigger mechanism has been enhanced with a nickel and Teflon-coated trigger bar for smoother operation, the magazine well has been factory-widened, and extra serrations have been added to the front and rear of the slide.
The pistols will be available with four different magazine options of varying capacities, including 10-round magazines compliant with regulations in some U.S. states, 15- and 17-round magazines compatible with F and K models, and extended magazines holding 20 rounds.
All VP9A1 pistols are factory-ready for optics mounting, with a set of nine different adapters that fit popular mounting systems compatible with most red-dot sights.
HK plans to offer models ready for optics mounting as well as versions equipped with factory-installed Holosun SCS sights. Nine different models are planned for release in 2025, with prices ranging from $979 to $1,319.
