The largest European firearms fair, IWA, has ended therefore it's time for the first new products. We're starting with the ones recently announced products by the S&T brand in the historical replicas category.

Fans of the Soviet SVT-40 and SKS rifles will certainly be pleased to hear about the upcoming replicas from the Taiwanese manufacturer known for its wide range of historical oriented products. As we have learned, work on the S&TSVT-40 replica has been completed, and the presented variant is the production version.

In this case, the focus was on making the stock from solid wood, metal and using standard parts as much as possible while trying to achieve the best possible reproduction of the original firearm, which was definitely successful.

The replica has a detachable magazine with a capacity of 90 BBs. Users will also be able to take off the receiver dust cover and the dummy bolt carrier or the cover of the trigger mechanism. Under them we will find a slightly modified gearbox frame similar to V6 / V7, but created specifically for the new replicas.

Parts such as a quick spring replacement system, easy access and gearbox stabilization in the replica have been taken care of. The vast majority of internal parts are standard, as is the rotary HU chamber taken from M4/AR-15 rifles. The only exception is the new tappet plate. The workings of the gearbox are regulated by a dedicated ECU G3 system ensuring correct operation.

As with the original, the replica will only have a single shot firing mode. The S&T SVT-40 replica is currently in production and is expected to be available within 2-3 months.

S&T SKS

Another replica that shares a significant portion of its internal components is the Simonov carbine, better known as the SKS, the first widely used design chambered in, the now famous, 7.62x39 mm round. The replica is still in development and the presented model was a prototype. The finished replica will share the gearbox with the SVT-40 rifle. Like the replica described above, it will be made of wood and metal.

The replica will be a version of the Russian-made carbine from the later period of 1952-1956 with a folding bayonet in the form of a classic blade and a slightly inclined gas block. Compared to the SVT-40 replica the things that will chance are the safety mechanism, the way the replica is disassembled and the ammo supply system with magazines hidden under the magazine.

The magazines themselves will have a capacity of 30 BBs and will be made of polymer. Due to legal regulations, the bayonets on the replica will be made of polymers, but owners of the originals should have no problems replacing them in their replicas.
Both replicas are to generate about 1.2J-1.4J of muzzle energy in the factory configuration.

The family of AEG replicas of Sten SMGs is also to be refreshed under the AGM brand. In addition to the Sten Mk.II model variants equipped with an integrated silencer are to appear in an unspecified future, namely the Sten Mk.II (S) models with a framework stock and the Sten Mk.II SOE with a framework pistol grip.

Among the more modern designs, a certain novelty is the modular shotgun system in the Tokyo Marui standard.

S&T M870 Modular Combat Shotgun (MCS)

Classic, spring-loaded shotguns in the form of the S&T M870 Modular Combat Shotgun (MCS) are to offer a fairly diverse range of individual components, from external barrel assemblies in 3 lengths, handguards in classic and tactical versions, the possibility of choosing between an English style classic stock, a pistol grip or tactical adjustable stock assembly with a pistol grip. Some technical changes have also been made, introducing the possibility of quick spring replacement.

In addition to the visual and ergonomic aspects, this will also lead to a positive change in terms of maintenance, which will be easier after disassembly.

These are not the only new products from the S&T brand, so we encourage you to read our previous articles and follow our portal.
