Different shooting platforms come with their own advantages and disadvantages, which further complicates the final choice of a first or subsequent firearm. The situation is similar in airsoft, where the defining factor when choosing another replica may be the magazines one already owns. There are, of course, certain exceptions, but it is difficult to speak here of A SITUATION LIKE THIS. A certain compromise is offered by designs such as the Staccato HD (i.e. the 2011/Hi-Capa family of pistols) that accept Glock platform magazines (Staccato HD - innovations in the guise of 2011 9mm).

The challenge of creating an airsoft counterpart was taken up by Kizuna Works, a company previously known for accessories for AK platform replicas (HEXAGON handguard by KIZUNA WORKS). The result of this endeavor is the Basilisk replica — an airsoft Hi-Capa replica fed fromm by Glock replica magazines, presented during this year’s MOA 2025 trade show.

The BSK-43 Bazyliszek itself features a polymer frame housing simplified Hi-Capa controls in the form of only a slide release lever (ambidextrous) and duplicated manual safety levers. The characteristic grip safety is absent here.

The pistol frame accommodates Hi-Capa trigger mechanism components (including an adjustable trigger), hop-up chamber adjustment in the TDC system (via an opening in the trigger guard), as well as an under-barrel rail. The manufacturer did not specify which frame colors will be available, but at the trade show classic black, tan, and an unusual purple were on display.

The replica’s slide is made of cast aluminum and is expected to be available in two variants (depending on the model). It is also interchangeable with Hi-Capa replicas in the Tokyo Marui standard.
The following variants were presented:

BSK 43 (base model) with a 4.3-inch barrel and a single-piece slide

BSK 43 AIR – with the base slide but a shorter Compact frame

BSK MINI – the smallest option with a shortened frame for Glock 19 replica magazines, a barrel shorter than 4.3 inches, and a smaller slide; a Compact-category replica

BSK 51 – a classic variant with a 5.1-inch barrel, a different slide design with a built-in compensator, and a Compact frame from the BSK 43 AIR model

BSK 51 PRO – the most refined variant, equipped with a proprietary split slide, the ability to mount optics directly on the slide, and a Full Size frame from the BSK 43 model

Each replica will offer the possibility of mounting optics after removing the plate (which also serves as the rear sight base). Inside the replica, there is also an inner barrel mounted permanently to the frame, as well as an external thread on the outer barrel for mounting accessories. Due to certain proprietary solutions, the outer barrel is not interchangeable with those from other manufacturers.

As for the trigger mechanism, components derived from the 2011/Hi-Capa and 1911 platforms were used. A proprietary element here is the trigger bar, specially designed by Kizuna Works.

The most important innovative element, however, is compatibility with Glock replica magazines. In this case, Kizuna Works confirms compatibility with magazines from the Action Army AAP-01 as well as WE, Vega Force Company, and Tokyo Marui Glock pistol replicas.

The new Kizuna Works Basilisk replicas will be available for sale soon. Prices and the exact release date have not yet been disclosed.
