After the first premiere of the PP-19 Vityaz/PPK20 gas-powered submachine gun replica from Well Pro, the obvious question arose about its bigger brother sharing this design, the AK-12. Recently, there have already been specific announcements in the form of a complete replica and details about its internal components.
Since its inception the AK-12 design has had several modernization variants, of which Well Pro has reproduced the latest AK-12 M1. Characteristic elements include a new design of an adjustable and foldable stock made of polymers, a monolithic pistol grip combining a storage compartment and an integrated trigger guard and magazine release, and the original iron sights. In addition, we find a standard polymer handguard, a top rail, an ambidextrous firing mode selector with settings for single and automatic fire, and a threaded outer barrel.
While when asking about the standard of parts in Well Pro PPK20 (PPK20 from Well Pro in a gas-powered variant) we received information that it is a modification of Z-System by Tokyo Marui, in this case we will receive a replica compliant with this standard. This was confirmed by the materials provided, in which internal parts are interchangeable with the AKX ZET standard parts used in gas-powered AK replicas from Tokyo Marui. Unfortunately, this also involves some inconveniences in the form of limiting the travel of the bolt carrier to a smaller range.
The replica itself is supposed to generate a muzzle velocity of around 350 fps, be powered by standard green gas, and weigh around 3550 grams. At the moment, only Asian stores are offering it in pre-orders at a price of 498 USD.
