The International Defense Industry Fair MSPO in Kielce began this year from September 2 to September 5. During the fair, visitors had the opportunity to see the latest offers from a wide range of products intended for the military and civilian markets, from widely known ones to more exotic solutions. We're starting our news with a report from the J&C Armament stand, the Polish manufacturer of the unique Black Widow Mk.III carbines.
The design, developed since 2019, has received a new incarnation in the form of subsequent variants. It is still based on a short-stroke gas piston system (which brings certain benefits) and can be chambered in 5.56x45mm and .300 Blackout AAC (depending on the version). The main changes include new handguards with slightly modified geometry and an extension for a better grip. The carbines feature ambidextrous controls (including a convenient, enlarged catch lever) modeled after the AR-15 system, and a charging handle located above the stock that can be easily switched to the right or left side.
Additionally, the stocks are available in three variants: on a classic AR-15 guide, and retractable stocks in the Short or Super Short variants. Currently, the Polish Black Widow carbine is sold directly by J&C Armament with the possibility of individual modification for each customer, but there are plans to start selling ready-made variants in other stores. Prices for the Polish Black Widow carbine from J&C Armament start at around 3178 EUR.
This year's new product from J&C Armament is the SRB-9, also known as the popular PCC. The new design is intended to address market needs and combines proven solutions with a proprietary design.
The SRB-9 carbine has a "heavy profile" barrel and a handguard with the M-LOK system, an ambidextrous safety/selector switch, a single bolt catch lever on the left side, and a magazine release lever on the right.
The entire carbine operates on the basis of a blowback system, but remains compatible with trigger mechanisms from the AR-15.
