Forward Controls Design and Revival Defense have announced production of a new family of silencer mounts: the 6315RF and 6310RF. The Rearden ATLAS system uses a short, lightweight taper threaded mount, which is a popular mounting system.
The new flash hiders released by Revival Defense and Forward Controls Design are compatible with the Plan B/Rearden ATLAS standards. The 6315RF is designed for the 1/2x28 thread and the 6310RF for the 5/8×24 thread.
The RF Muzzle Series is based on Forward Controls Design's 6315 flash hider/compensator released in 2017. The 6315 design has been incorporated into many popular Dead Air silencer mounts, such as the 6315KM (Keymo) and 6315XE (Xeno).
Flash hiders are preferred on most platforms for practical reasons. Muzzle brakes provide recoil mitigation, but also produce high pressure waves and flash. RF muzzle devices have the same flash suppression efficiency as the standard A2 suppressor, although they are shorter. Internal concentric grooves also increase the area of the flash slots without requiring a longer fixture.
Devices with closed front ports reduce the likelihood of snagging on vegetation and webbing. Fully enclosed structures are also more durable. The lower part of the device, without flash ports, acts as a compensator. It also helps to reduce the amount of dust raised when shooting in the prone position. The 6315RF has asymmetric ports with 10-15% better elevation compensation compared to the A2.
The 6315RF and the 6310RF provide a durable and complete suppressor mount that does not add weight or length to the front of a weapon. They are designed to work with the popular Rearden ATLAS/Q Plan B system.
