The TrueAim Sights company is introducing an interesting sighting system that combines traditional iron sights with the functionality of red-dot designs. The new product, called the TrueAim Active Iron Sights, consists of a rear sight with a built-in green diode and a front sight equipped with a light-reflecting element. When the shooter’s eye, the front sight, and the rear sight are aligned, a clear, reflected green dot appears on the front sight. Otherwise, the front sight insert remains white. The manufacturer describes this solution as “a green dot enclosed within the form of classic iron sights.”
The TrueAim Active Iron Sights are made of metal components which, according to the company, ensures greater durability than optical red-dot sights by eliminating fragile lenses. The user can adjust the diode’s brightness and the angle of the front sight, allowing the system to be tailored to individual preferences.

Although the manufacturer does not specify exact battery life, it claims that it is high. The system is also equipped with a shake awake feature — the electronics activate when motion is detected and shut off after a period of inactivity to save power. Even if the diode becomes dirty or the battery is depleted, the sights continue to function as standard iron sights.
Initially, the TrueAim Active Iron Sights will be available for Glock and 1911 pistols. The suggested retail price for the Glock set is 295 USD.
