Among the vast number of American firearms brands, one can distinguish both many major ones and the highly unique manufacturers responsible for unconventional and refreshingly distinctive firearm designs that do not follow mainstream trends. One such brand is KelTec, known for its characteristic designs that combine utilitarian purpose with the manufacturer’s individual approach. A perfect example of this was last year’s premiere of the KelTec PR57 pistol (KelTec RP57 - a new pistol with unusual solutions), a design that blends tradition (an internal magazine loaded via stripper clips) with modernity (a rotating barrel locking system and chambering in the contemporary 5.7x28 mm cartridge). These strengths were once again emphasized this year with the presentation of a new pistol from the PR series—the PR-3AT model.
PR-3AT
This design, much like its larger and older sibling, features an internal magazine fed by stripper clips, a rotating barrel locking system, and similar construction materials. What’s new is the caliber used—.380 ACP—combined with the surprisingly small size of the pistol and its weight of just 403 g when loaded for the PR-3AT variant, or 376 g for the PR-3AT10 variant.

The design offers a capacity of 13+1 for the standard variant or 9+1 for the PR-3AT10 variant. The option to mount an optic on the slide has been retained, in the same or a very similar manner as on the PR57 model.

KelTec Sub 2000 Gen3
The folding/break-action KelTec Sub 2000 design has been on the market for years. It is now available in its improved 3rd generation, featuring a rotating handguard that allows optics to be mounted. At this year’s Shot Show, a refreshed lineup of this platform was unveiled, introducing the CQB and MultiMag variants.

As the name suggests, this variant has been modified for increased modularity. Changes were made to the grip, allowing for easy installation of selected inserts and magazine catches, enabling the use of magazines other than Glock. For the 9x19 mm version, inserts are planned for magazines from platforms such as Beretta, Canik TP, M&P, SIG P320, SIG P226, CZ75, and more.
KelTec Sub 2000 CQB

KelTec Sub 2000 CQB is a variant equipped with an integrated suppressor that replaces the handguard. In this case, only long rails at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions are present, along with a short section of the handguard responsible for locking the construction in the folded position.
KS7 Gen 2

The KelTec KS7 shotgun has also received an update in the form of a 2nd generation. This bullpup design is one of the few available on the market and has now been modified primarily externally by replacing the tall top rail with a lower one, introducing a short rail section on the shotgun’s forend (cleverly concealed), as well as certain internal changes resulting in smoother operation.
All of the discussed products are already available on the manufacturer’s website. KelTec traditionally offers its products in three color variants (black, tan, and green).
