The rifle in question is the Model 2020 "Waypoint" bolt-action precision rifle, available in the 6 mm Creedmoor, 6.5 mm Creedmoor, .308 Winchester and 6.5 mm PRC calibers. It does not seem to be an attempt to market gap filler product made for this category of rifles. Waypoint has a number of features that make it worthy of a place among the tried and true models popular with precision shooters.
The rifle is equipped with a 24-inch barrel surrounded by a carbon fiber sleeve to increase its stiffness while reducing weight. The second option is a traditional fluted barrel. There is a 5/8”x24 thread at the end for attaching a silencer. This is possible after disassembling the muzzle brake or a thread cover included in the kit.
The bolt carrier has been nitrided and has a spiral channeling, which improves the aesthetics of the weapon, but also its reliability, making room for any dirt that could otherwise hinder the operation of the mechanism.
Springfield decided to use proven designs and fitted the rifle with an adjustable trigger mechanism from the TriggerTech brand. The whole thing is closed in an AG Composites stock made of carbon fiber, covered with Evergreen or Ridgeline camouflage.

The stock received five carrying sling slots, a 1-inch Pachmayr Decelerator rubber butt plate and a three-dimensional cheek pad (the latter function is available additionally). The receiver and the outside of the round chamber were covered with thermosetting Cerakote Olive Drab paint.
Waypoint is fed from AICS double-stack magazines holding 10 rounds. The manufacturer guarantees the accuracy of the rifle at the level of 0.75 MOA using high-quality ammunition. The price of the rifle, depending on the selected options and caliber, ranges from 1700-2400 USD.
