The PureView pistol sight from FN Herstal is not the only holographic sight presented at the NRA trade show in Texas. Another offering was showcased by InfiTac, a company previously known mainly as a manufacturer of thermal imaging optics (InfiTac IOTS: IOP25 & IOL25, Pistol Sights Fast Mini FMP13 InfiTac).

The newly introduced OWS-32 model is the manufacturer’s first classic optical sight and is intended to further develop holographic sight technology by using a solution called Wave Guide (which, at first glance, works very similarly to FN Herstal’s solution).

In this case, however, we are dealing with a full-size optic designed for long guns. The construction has been successfully tested on platforms chambered in calibers such as .338 Lapua Magnum and 12 Gauge, confirming its resistance to recoil. In its design, InfiTac offers even more functionality, including the ability to switch between 7 different reticle combinations (dot, circle, cross, and various combinations of these elements), a sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity with motion-activated wake-up via InstaWake, power supplied by a CR123/18340 battery with a declared runtime of 1500 hours,20 levels of daylight brightness and 10 levels designed for use with night vision, as well as a dedicated switching button.

The sight also features automatic brightness adjustment with a sensor placed at the front. The entire unit is housed in an aluminum body with a ⅓ co-witness window, a weight of 280 grams, and dimensions of 84x66x51 mm.
No exact release date has been announced, only that it is expected in the second quarter of this year. The price will be revealed shortly before the launch.
